Woven in Kashmir, India

Collection II

Kashmir, India  ·  Grade-A Pashmina  ·  12–15 Micron

Woven Wind
— Pashmina.

The finest natural fiber in the world. 12–15 microns — finer than the finest cashmere. A single shawl takes six months to complete by hand.

Mughal emperors called it pashm and taxed it like gold. We are the first brand to present it at the price it deserves.

“So fine, a full shawl passes through a finger ring. Not a legend. A quality test, still used today.”

01

Fineness

12–15 Micron Fiber

Cashmere averages 14–19 microns. Our Pashmina is 12–15 — genuinely finer than the finest cashmere on the market. That fineness is why it is lighter, warmer, and softer than anything else you have owned.

02

Traceable Provenance

Kashmir, India — GI Certified

True Pashmina is legally protected under India’s GI tag. The fiber comes from Changthangi goats raised above 14,000 feet in Ladakh. Our supply is documented from animal to finished piece.

The Ring Test

A Six-Month Craft

A single throw takes six months to complete on a hand loom. The traditional test of quality — passing a full shawl through a finger ring — remains valid for everything we produce. No shortcuts.

Why Pashmina Over Cashmere

The world calls it cashmere.
India perfected it first.

“Cashmere” is a Western corruption of “Kashmir” — the region where this fiber was first woven into luxury goods for Mughal courts in the 16th century.

Fiber diameter matters. Luxury cashmere brands compete at 14–16 microns. Our Grade-A Pashmina is 12–15. That difference means measurably softer, lighter, and warmer per gram.

The brand gap. Loro Piana sells a cashmere throw for $5,000–8,000. A Grade-A handwoven Pashmina throw — finer fiber, more labor, deeper heritage — currently has no equivalent brand. That is what Aravat is building.
